Smalls Jazz New York

Jazz Listings for Oct. 30-Nov

If you like staying up until four in the morning with good jazz, good drinks, and a good crowd, Smalls is the place for you. Since its opening in 1994, Smalls has been a New York landmark dedicated to supporting old and new musicians. New York, and Greenwich Village in particular, has a rich jazz history, so if you are a history/jazz buff, this place is a must!

What I love about Smalls is the space. On a cool rainy night its coziness is just what I need. It is really intimate, the sightlines and acoustics are great, and it feels like you’re listening to a show in a friend’s basement. If you want to get a seat I recommend coming early. As the name implies, it’s small (there are only about 60 seats) and it gets pretty packed.

There is a fully stocked bar so that you can warm yourself up with some whisky while being serenaded by smooth jazz, well into the wee hours of the morning.

If you can’t make it to the bar, Smalls streams live videos of their shows every night.
