The 18 volt battery pack and its cavity

This customer wanted an Aguilar OBP-3 installed into his Fender 5 string Jazz bass. The OBP-3 is a great little 3-band preamp that cuts and boosts 3 bands - low mid and high.

To accommodate the added controls I move the input jack from the front control plate to the side. This gives us an extra place to put a potentiometer in line with the other pots (a convenient trait of Fender basses - having the jack on the front like that).

This preamp runs on 9 or 18 volts, and this customer wanted 18v. So we need a cavity for the battery compartment which I placed in the back. I also added a toggle switch in the front above the control knobs. This switch changes the frequency bandwidth controlled by the "mid" control knob.
